Ferrari
Ferrari is fully entitled to be considered one of the world’s most important automobile manufacturers. The company located in Maranello, which saw the first car come out of its plant in 1947, undoubtedly owes its initial glory to one man: Enzo Ferrari, known as “the Drake”, who, with his team was to achive extraordinary success on the race track, from the outset.
There is no championship or famous race in which Ferrari has not run, and frequently arrived first: Daytona, Le Mans, Sebring, Mille Miglia, Targa Florio and many other races in the past, to arrive at our own day with rou- sing victories in the Formula One world championship.
The extraordinary impetus of a company that has never stood still and has always sought for the best can be summarized in an historical declaration by Enzo Ferrari: “For me, the most important victory is the one I still have to win.” Today Ferrari, which has its headquarters in the historic plant at Maranello, produces over four thousand cars a year, sold on markets all over the world.
Guiding the company with extraordinary capacity and enthusiasm is a man who has worked for Ferrari for many years now – since 1991 he has been officially President and Managing Director – and who began his career at Maranello as assistant to Enzo Ferrari in 1973, becoming sports car manager in the following year: Luca Cordero di Montezemolo.
