The Modena Racetrack

The Racetrack in Modena represents the long history of Modena and vehicles of all kinds. This history began long before the city decided to build structures dedicated to auto-racing, when the races, such as the Modena Circuit, were still held on local streets. For safety reasons, it was then necessary to build a real racetrack. The “Aerautodome” was inaugurated in 1950 and for eleven years it was the center and cornerstone of Modena Sport Racing. At the end of the 60s, however, it was no longer up to safety regulations which were becoming increasingly stricter. Thus the building began its slow decline until it was finally closed in the 70s.
The new Modena Racetrack, inaugurated in 2011 in Marzaglia, is a 2.007 km long "academic" track. It is located on an uneven terrain which allowed for the track to be created with uphills and downhills, making it more interesting both for cars as well as motorcycles. The curves are quite difficult and they alternate between a tight series of curves and wide ones located just before the straightaways.
It is possible to rent out the track and the surrounding structures for trial races, product tests and company training activities, or for organizing and creating events, or sport and safety driving classes with the necessary vehicles, professional driving instructors and technical support staff.
